Voted in as Member of Enchanted Visions

I'm very pleased to have just been unanimously welcomed by the board of  fantasy artist peers as a member of the Enchanted Visions project. Members each submit their own artwork to be displayed at the Enchanted Visions website according to a monthly theme. About 7 of my completed works are now available for viewing at the Enchanted Visions - aka EV - website. They can be seen by visiting the EV website link given below. More coming.
Enchanted Visions was started by 2 highly acclaimed fantasy artists, Amy Brown and Jessica Galbraith. Monthly theme challenges were formed as a basis to help stimulate the artists to create artwork in a fun setting. The artwork was published on a website devoted to this. It's now open to an expanded list of participants thanks to them and equally great fantasy artist Coriander Shea. Coriander, another great EV artist, Lisa Cree, and possibly others I don't have info about, have worked as admins for the group website and other activities. Coriander recently resumed the distinguished role as head administrator for EV. Lisa remains active as an EV artist.
Rebecca Brogden Nance and Mayumi Ogihara, also exceptional EV artists, have formed an EV Deviant Art group. Its primary purpose is for showcasing EV member artwork at DeviantArt.com. Rebecca and Mayumi publish member artwork there based on the same monthly themes.
EV artists also recently joined forces with Facebook Monthly Fantasy Art Auctions. headed by the exceptionally talented UK fantasy artist, EV member Monika Holloway. Members here post their own artwork for sale & can opt to open it up to auction-style bidding. Anyone with a Facebook account can participate. Buy It Now buying is also available if you don't want to be in suspense over whether or not your bid wins. The artwork consists of paintings, prints, jewelry, sculpture, and is not limited by medium. Each monthly auction is continuously updated with more additions throughout the month while it's ongoing, adding to the excitement.
Many thanks to Amy, Jessica, Coriander, Rebecca, Mayumi, Lisa, Monika, and all those who have gone before for all your wonderful work and dedication.

LOL - When I started on this story, I had no conception of how many people are working behind the scenes. Here's the entire current list of the EV artists who voluntarily hold positions on behalf of the whole group. Each of them is also an EV artist. Thanks to all of you.

Stop by to see it among art by other SAS members at 425 Liberty St. , Schenectady, NY after today. Here's how a print of the finished watercolor painting looks with white border. Artwork for Your Ads or Personal Use

PictureBiz Ad Artwork Sample
Copyright Joyce Jackson. All rights reserved.
My most recently completed project. A client wanted specific items included in a picture she'll be using in her ad handouts and business cards. The main things she needed besides the wording were brightly colored perennial garden flowers, a wrought iron scrollwork sign, and a Victorian house. She wanted the word font to have a Victorian feel to it. Because she was able to meet with me in person, I set her up to scan through the many fonts I have available so that she was free to pick the exact ones she wanted. Even if you live too far away from me, I can arrange a way for you see samples of the many font style options.

This particular client also needed some items, such as the wrought iron framework and yellow day lilies, placed in a specific way. I made pencil sketches as we talked over her goals for the final product. Next I put the sketch on my computer and worked on it with graphics software. The words she used were her own choice and are not available for re-use. I'm showing how they were placed on the picture. This picture can't be re-used as an ad for anyone else, but I can create a unique ad for other garden maintenance people and landscapers, and for almost any other type of use.
Here's a short list of artwork types I can't, am unwilling, or unable to create. I will not create obscene or profane artwork. No dark art or artwork with negative or destructive connotations. No artwork for anything espousing belligerent political, racist, or sexist viewpoints.
Most of the artwork in this sample is my own original creation. Some of it is made from modified graphics software shapes and clip art. I can do your artwork for a variety of purposes. Maybe you want a new business card and flyer handouts. You may only want something simple as a header for your online stationary. We can discuss arrange a licensing agreement that's mutually comfortable so that you can make use of my artwork skins. Skins or tubes are computer graphics rendered in layers with all of the background fill removed. You can add them as a part of a composition you craft. Art crafting is a new concept for me, but whatever your goals, I will work with you to come up with something that fits your needs.

Send me an inquiry on your project ideas

Announcing the Contest Winner!

Picture
Congratulations to the winner of this contest, Phyllis Harris!! You will receive a copy of this card in the mail in a few days. Blank on the inside. Back has text shown on bottom - minus the copyright notice, which I forgot until after I printed it. You can tell eveyone I said so, Phyllis. I'm sure they're interested. ;) The picture is actually printed upside down, not how it's shown to allow for it being center folded. Ya-a-a-ay, Phyllis! I hope you'll like it. Thank you for your contribution to helping me get the final version of this finished. I listened to your opinion. I needed another set of eyes to take a fresh look at it and you very nicely responded. And it won Second Prize at the Fine Art America contest yesterday, June 3, 2013. So now you can tell that to whomever you'd like, too. Maybe that's a little more interesting. Let's hope so. :))

Here's the info on the contest where it won the prize.

Earlier This Year

This contest was announced in April on my Facebook page.
This is what people who came here from my Facebook page saw:
Vote and win a prize. Open to all. Randomly selected winner gets a free blank note card with a picture of this dragon on it. All you have to do is leave a comment saying which version of these is your favorite and why.
Vote for which one you like best. Vote by number. If you like more than one
equally, vote that way by saying what you think. Enter your votes as a
comment below.

7) This and the next one were added a day later. I think I like this the best. It's always good to look away for awhile. I took out the rainbow colors in the shamrock. I seemed too busy this AM with the rainbow in it in addition to being in the dragon's belly. I always see the overall appearance better when I break for a day or more and get a fresh look.

Picture
8) Everything's the same  as #7, except 2 changes. Lighter color and reticulation, aka, it looks speckled.

Picture1) Heavy Eye Feature
Same as #2, except heavier eye feature.

Picture2) Light Eye Feature
Same as #1, except lighter eye feature

Picture3) No Eye Feature Stronger Colors
No Eye Feature, Stronger Colors Than #4.

Picture4) No Eye Feature Lighter Colors
No Eye Feature, Lighter Colors than #3

Picture5) Reticulated Heavy Eye Feature
Reticulated, i.e., it looks like it's speckled. Same as #6, except heavier, or stronger colors.

Picture6) Reticulated Pale Eye Feature
Same as #5, except paler colors.

Bank Check Artwork

Any of the artwork here can be made into a print, greeting card, or ACEO. Just send a request. Pricing will be the same as for all my other artwork.
Picture
Indian Fairy 1
A sample of my Works in Progress - WIP's. Everything is hand drawn with pencils, working from my imagination. Produced on paper with graphite and colored pencil, then photographed and edited in Photoshop. I might give her a raven to hold instead of the crystal and Light circle. Still thinking it over. This is part of a series of Fairies that will illustrate bank checks. They will be sold by a company that produces and sells checks. Details coming soon.

Picture
Indian Fairy 2
A rough graphite and colored pencil sketch of my second work in the Indian Fairy series for artist illustrated bank checks. I kind of like the look with only one wing. But I'll add the other one. It's just a matter of being satisfied with how this one looks, then reversing it to make the one for the other side.

Picture
Adh Mór Dragun
A very early stage of what will be the first dragon in my Dragons series for artwork on bank checks. Much refining still to do. This is the result after I entered it in the Ellen Million Sketch Fest today. Only one hour is allowed for artists to create a sketch based on a Prompt someone posts. The Prompt for this was Celtic Dragon. Thus the name, Adh Mór Dragun which are the pieced-together Celtic words for "Good Luck Dragon". A nice way to celebrate St. Patrick's day.

I'm looking forward to receiving my first tablet for drawing and graphics. I ordered it last week and expect it to arrive next week. Crossing my fingers that installation of the driver goes well and that there won't be any compatibility issues with my computer and software. If it all comes together nicely, I know I'll enjoy how much it will speed up my creatiion process without sacrificing the originality of all my non-sculptural artwork.
