Getting psyched with concrete ideas. My 1st concrete project
will be my sleeping dragon. 2012 is a year of the dragon in Chinese astrology. It's at clay model stage. It's too large for my kiln and I don't want to break it down into sections for firing it as a finished piece. Working out how to make the mold and mother mold. I got a gallon of latex from Holden's which might not be enough. I usually make a plaster mother mold, but it will be too heavy for my dragon which is very large. See the latest picture of the Dragon's head, right arm and claw. Big reveal coming sooner or later. I study as I go. Finding out best way to do the wings, making sketches, took a lot of time. Researching different ways to make the finished product, what materials are compatible or not.
